Francis William Kunic

Francis William “Bill” Kunic, age 80, of Irwin went with the Lord, Our Father, on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of 55 years of Ellen Kunic; loving father of the late Robert (Mary surviving) Kunic, Catherine (Steven) Smith, Michelle Kunic and Michael (Dana) Kunic and loving Pap-Pap of Emily Smith, Sarah Smith, Madeline (Austin) Moore, and Amanda (Megan) Whichelo. Bill was preceded in eternal life by his parents Frank and Betty Kunic and his sister Suzanne (the late Bob) Micklos and is survived by his sister MJ (the late Steve) Levine. Bill is also survived and loved by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Bill met the love of his life at Zayres, but supported his family through many years of employment with Westinghouse Energy Center in Monroeville. While work was important to him for the stability it provided his family, there was no question that the most important part of his life was his family, his entire family and all his friends he made throughout his 80 years of life. Bill also was a Karate Instructor for the YMCA of Irwin. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the Ott Funeral Home Inc., 805 Pennsylvania Ave. Irwin 724-863-8900. Parting prayers of transfer will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 12:30 PM followed by a funeral Mass at 1 PM in the Immaculate Conception Church, Irwin. Interment with military honors will follow in the Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Westmoreland County Blind Association, 911 S.
