Frank W. Daugherty
December 27, 1950 - February 10, 2023 (Age 72)
Mr. Daugherty, 72, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, after a brief illness, on February 10 th.
Frankie was born in Charlotte on December 27, 1950, son of Frank Stephenson and Mary (King) Daugherty.
His funeral to celebrate his life will be held at 12pm on Tuesday, February 14 th at Golden Acre Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Pope officiating with burial to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends beginning at 11am.
Mr. Daugherty grew up in Ft. Mill, SC and later moved to Mint Hill. He worked for the City of Charlotte as a landscaper and retired from there after 30 years. Frankie was strong in his faith and loved his Pastor Bruce Pope. He enjoyed bluegrass and gospel music. People will remember his smile and the way he laughed all the time. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Ella Freeman Daugherty; children, Janice Williams (Ted) and Wes Daugherty (Cynthia); siblings, Margaret Query, Phyllis Kiser (Ken) and Bill Newell (Donna); grandchildren, Savannah, Andrew, Mason, David, Brianna and Taylor. Frankie was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Stephenson Daugherty and Mary King Daugherty and brother Buddy Newell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Golden Acre Baptist Church, 15809 Lawyers Road, Stallings, NC 28104.
