Fred L. Graham

A funeral service celebrating the life of Fred Lester Graham, 90, of Newark, will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Nate Humphrey officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park, where military honors will be observed.

Calling hours will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Fred was born in Farragut, Iowa on December 16, 1932 to the late Clarence D. and Margaret R. (Ditmars) Graham. He passed away at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio, on January 11, 2023.

Fred proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Prior to retirement, he was a business representative for the International Association of Mechanics. He was a member of the IAM and also the Land of Legend Tractor Club. He enjoyed restoring antique John Deere tractors, working with his hands, remodeling and spending time in his garage and outside. Most important was the time he spent with his loving family and friends.

Survivors include his children, Cindy (Dennis) Sullivan, Jacalyn (Michael) Humphrey, Melanie (Russell) Banbury, Regina (Charles) Best, Paul (Yvette) Canter and Kevin Sharrock; sister, Charlotte (LaVerne) Orton; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Graham; daughter, Deborah Sharrock; sister, June Brown; and brothers, Howard Graham, Donald Graham and Leonard Graham.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Fred to Hospice of Central Ohio. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
