Frederick William Miltz Jr., age 93, of Indian Trail, North Carolina passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024. He was born in Richmond, Va. to Frederick William Miltz, Sr. and Ivy Miltz (Merritt) on December 11, 1930.
Fred studied Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech and began his career in metal fabrication as a salesman at Freeze Machine.
Fred, along with his wife Linda, of 60 years, founded Southeastern Enterprises, a metal fabrication machine shop, in 1977 and it is still in operation today.
Fred was a fan of football, enjoyed golf, fishing, traveling and the beach but, mostly spending time with his family. Fred is survived by his wife, Linda Strum Miltz, son William Eric Miltz (Deanna) (Kannapolis, NC), son David Russell Miltz, (Lolly), (Mint Hill, NC). Grandchildren, Zachary Stone Miltz and Zoe Sterling Miltz, (Kannapolis, NC). Logan David Miltz (Mint Hill, NC), Faith Miltz Gordy (Matt) (Charlotte, NC), Savannah Rose Miltz (Mint Hill, NC), Ivy Joy Miltz (Mint Hill, NC), Sister, Charlotte Miltz Lloyd (Doug), Urbana, Va.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ivy Miltz.
A visitation for Fred will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Hickory Grove Baptist Church (Harris Campus), 7200 E W.T. Harris Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28215. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 12:00 PM, 7200 E W.T. Harris Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28215. A committal service will occur Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
