Fred Eugene Wagner
April 12, 1929 - December 10, 2022 (Age 93)
Fred "Lefty" Eugene Wagner, 93, of Zanesville passed at 4:04 PM Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House after a brief illness.
He was born on Friday, April 12, 1929 in Zanesville, Ohio the son of the late Frederick Harold Wagner and Mabel Gardner Wagner.
He was a 1947 graduate of Lash High School. Fred was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of the Old Timers Association and VFW Post #1058. Fred enjoyed playing all sports, especially baseball, which he played professionally. He liked getting together with friends and playing Euchre.
He is survived by three children, Jack Wagner, Donald (Tina) Wagner and Joan (Todd) Batstra; seven grandchildren, Heather Lyons, Caitlyn Wagner, Andrew Batstra, Brett Batstra, Eli Wagner, Evan Wagner, and Emma Wagner; and a couple great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Demmon Wagner.
Visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at the Bryan & Hardwick. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home.
Burial will conclude at the Zanesville Memorial Park.
