Freida Virginia Faison

Freida V. Faison, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away on June 19, 2024, at the age of 75 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.

Born on March 6, 1949, in Pottstown, Freida was the daughter of the late Fred and Josephine (Shawell) Faison. She grew up in a close-knit family and maintained strong bonds with her siblings throughout her life. Freida attended the Pottstown School District and was known for her warrior spirit, unwavering kindness, and dedication to her family and community.

Freida dedicated decades of her life to caring for others in the healthcare industry, notably as a nursing assistant at Pennhurst and Parkhouse Rehabilitation Facility. Known for her tireless work ethic and compassionate nature, Freida's impact extended beyond her professional duties. Her caring touch and genuine concern for patients and their families earned her widespread respect and admiration from colleagues and the community alike.

In addition to her work in healthcare, Freida showcased her skills and versatility at WAI, where she contributed significantly to building car alternators and starters. Her proficiency in this role highlighted her capability and craftsmanship, demonstrating her ability to excel in different fields with dedication and skill.

Beyond her professional life, Freida found immense joy in her family, particularly her grandchildren, who brought her boundless happiness. She was a central figure in organizing family gatherings and community events like block parties and bus trips for Penn Village. Freida had a deep passion for music, particularly for Stevie Wonder, whose songs often filled her home with joy. She enjoyed playing cards, solving puzzles on Wheel of Fortune, watching classic movies, and passionately supporting the Philadelphia 76ers.

Freida V. Faison is survived by her loving children: Josephine, Vanessa Carpenter (Kent), Angela, and Antoinette. Freida also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Tracy, Aubree, Tyriek, Tyzhai, London, Rahsul, and great-grandchildren: Ah’Najul, Layliani, Sorien, and Willow.

Freida will be deeply missed by her siblings: Norma Shawell, Fred (Barb), William (Angela), Sheila, Deborah, Mark (Tammy), Michael (Roxanne), and Kim Cobb who shared a close bond with her throughout her life. Her nieces, nephews, extended family, former colleagues, and friends remember her for her warmth, generosity, and kindness.
