Gary L. Horton
February 6, 1962 - December 19, 2022 (Age 60)
Gary Lee Horton, 60, of Everett, PA passed away Monday, December 19, 2022. He was born on February 6, 1962 in Carlisle, PA; a son of the late William Clair Horton Jr. and Lois M. (Chesbro) Horton.
He is survived by children Jamie married to Brian Rhodes of Michigan; Garett Horton of Michigan; Chloe Horton of Maryland; Kilee Horton of Maryland; siblings Sonya Miller married to Tom; Wanda Beegle married to Joe; Marcia Rickabaugh married to Jerry; and William Horton III; and grandchildren Gavin and Kimber Rhodes.
After graduating from Everett High School, Gary went on to serve in the United States Army 1987 to 1991 as a SPC. He then spent the remaining part of his career as a corrections officer in Maryland and Pennsylvania.
Gary enjoyed traveling with his family and in his free time, cooking, mushroom hunting, tinkering with things, and attending auctions.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Reverend Robert R. Robertson officiating.
Burial will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park with full military honors by the Everett Area Honor Guard.
