Gary Slivka

Gary D. Slivka, 72, of Harrison City, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021. He was born April 25, 1949, in Wilkinsburg, to the late Daniel E. and Nora M. (Bonato) Slivka. Gary was dedicated to his 35-year career as a car salesman and retired from Meegan Ford. He was an avid golfer and was a member of Pleasant Valley Country Club for 15 years. Gary truly enjoyed many things: cars, the Pittsburgh Steelers, going to amusement parks with his grandchildren and going to the ocean were a few. He loved to eat, especially steak and comfort food, and any desserts. Of all of the things he loved, his family and friends were the most important to him. Gary is survived by his loving daughters, Kimberly (husband Jay) Johnson and Tammy (husband George) Slater; three grandchildren, Billy Siefert and Logan and Kira Wright; two sisters, Diana (husband Stephen) Ropelewski and Joanne Jenings; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, to whom he was devoted, Cheryl Jean Slivka. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at LINDSAY-JOBE FUNERAL HOME INC., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, 724-744-2721, where a blessing service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1.
