Gary White

Gary A. “Turf” White, 80 of Duncan Falls, passed away peacefully at Genesis Hospital on September 30, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Turf was born on August 9, 1944 in Zanesville, Ohio. He is the son of the late Willard W. and Lillian (Moyer) White. Turf retired as a truck driver for Mattingly’s Food. After retiring he continued to share his work ethic and skills with NFI Industries, where he worked for six more years before fully embracing retirement. He had a deep love for the open road, riding and taking trips on his Harley-Davidson with family and friends. Turf also could be found tinkering in his garage and lending a helping hand to a friend in need. Everyone loved Turf. He never met a stranger. Turf had a big heart but most of all he loved his family and friends.
He was a member of the Order of Eagles #302 and Moose Lodge #867.
He is survived by his children, Bryan (Sabrina) White and Becky White; his grandchildren, Kaley (Easton) Jones, Madison (Trent Goins) Cohen, Garrett White, Karah (Ty Jones) Cosgrave, Bryar Cosgrave, Daniel (Charissa) Cosgrave, and Samantha Cosgrave; Several great grandchildren, Adelyn and Maverick Jones, Beau Huffman, Maci, Bexley and Everly Cosgrave.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, whom he married October 25, 1963, Marjorie (Sweet) White and who passed away December 12, 2006; as well as his daughter, Kathy Jo White.
Upon his request he will have a small graveside service where he will be laid to rest beside his wife.
