Gary Allen Werner, 71, of Shaft, MD, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland, MD.
Born January 31, 1950, in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late Gordon and Alma Elizabeth “Betty” (Lewis) Werner. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Hilda Werner; and Rose Lewis.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Juliana “Jul” (Leece) Werner; one son, Gregory (Robyn) Werner; two sisters-in-law, Kristin (Tom) Beaver and Jeannie Leece; two brothers-in-law, Bob (Suzzane) Leece and Patrick E. Finzel, Jr.; five grandchildren, Ashley (Jamie) Kline, Glen Werner, Alexis Werner, Madison Werner and Savana Werner; four great-grandchildren, Paxtin, Oaklynn and Miles Kline; and Lance Werner; one sister, Lynda Durst; special nephews, Jason Durst; special great-nieces & nephews, Patrick (Renee) Finzel, III, Katlin Finzel, Jacob Finzel, Emma Beaver and Jaxson Finzel.
Gary was an appliance repairman for Cumberland Electric and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He loved farming and gardening and was a member of New Day Church, Cresaptown, MD.
Gary is loved and missed by many.
