Gene Gilbert Keister
January 1, 1927 - February 17, 2025 (Age 98)
Gene Gilbert Keister, 98, of Cresaptown, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Sterling Care Frostburg Village.
Born January 1, 1927, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Gilbert Lee and Beulah (Mowery) Keister. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Keister.
Gene was a Merchant Marine from 1944 until 1948. He was a charter member of the Cresaptown Eagles #2883 and the Cresaptown Sportsman Club. He was a lifetime member of the Cresaptown Fire Hall and Haystack Rod and Gun Club. Gene was also a member of the Democratic Club.
Gene loved motorcycles and was a member of the American Motorcycle Association. He was a part of the HOGS Motorcycle Club in LaVale, MD.
Gene is survived by ex-wife, Barbara Jean Keister and his two daughters, Barbara (Keister) Baldwin and Beverly (Keister) Marken.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Highway SW, Cresaptown on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain David Stout officiating.
Interment will be in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be accorded by the Fort Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to ABATE of Western Maryland, PO Box 5201 Cresaptown,MD 21502 in honor of Gene’s name.
Pallbearers will be from ABATE of Western Maryland.
