Gerald E. Morgart

Gerald E. Morgart, 94, of Alum Bank, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the Windber Medical Center.
He was born on March 13, 1927, in Reynoldsdale; son of the late Edward C. and Vera (Price) Morgart.
On May 23, 1946, he married Thelma (Rowzer) Morgart, who preceded him in death on October 15, 2015.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Thelma; daughter-in-law, Linda Morgart; and son-in-law, Harry Claycomb.
He is survived by his children, Carol Claycomb of New Paris; Gary Morgart of New Paris; Linda and husband Chuck Richards of Breezewood; William and wife Diane Morgart of Johnstown; Kathy and husband Tom Foor of New Paris; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Fred and Alan Morgart.
Gerald was employed by the US Steel in Johnstown, Pa for 30 plus years. He worked his way up from a laborer to a manufacturing engineer. He enjoyed playing Horseshoes and spending time with family. Gerald and his wife enjoyed spending the winters in Florida and summers in PA. For the past few years, the whole family would get together and have lunches at Gary’s house. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, December 15th from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 1p.m. with Pastor Daniel Dicken officiating at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home. A masonic service will be held at 12:30.
Interment will be held at the Bedford County Memorial Park.
