Gerald Hurst

Gerald L. “Jerry” Hurst passed away on January 5, 2024.
He graduated from J. P. McCaskey High School, class of 1953. Jerry retired from Armstrong in 1994 after 40 years as a millwright leader. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Jerry loved playing golf and traveling all over the world with his wife Dottie.
Jerry was a Past Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge 134. He was a Master Mason, a member of Lamberton Lodge #476, Lancaster Lodge of Perfection, Reading Consistory, a Shriner, and a member of Rajah Temple. He was a past president of Lancaster County Shrine Club.
He was married to Dorothy C. Hurst in 1980, and she passed away in 2022. His first wife Dorothy B. Hurst passed away in 2018. His step-son Michael P. Bradley passed away in 2022.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Lloyd W. and Frances E. Hurst.
Surviving are daughters Deborah Regar (Ron) of Taylors, SC, and Cynthia Shaub (Jerry) of Lancaster, step-son Christopher A. Bradley (Susan) of Elizabethtown, and step-daughter Kathy Trimpop (Dennis) of Winthrop, Maine. Also surviving is a sister Lois Boughter (Carroll) of Lititz, 12 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 10-11 AM on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Crichton Chapel at Calvary Homes, 502 Elizabeth Dr, Lancaster, PA 17601. A service will be held at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Conestoga Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Homes Benevolent Fund.
