Gerald R. Rivers
April 22, 1945 - May 11, 2025 (Age 80)
Gerald R. Rivers, 80, of Akron, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Ephrata Manor.
He was born in West Palm Beach, FL to the late Roberta Rivers and was the husband of Belinda (Brown) Rivers.
Gerald worked as a teacher during his working years. In his free time, Gerald was incredibly social and loved being around people and telling jokes. He enjoyed movies, TV and walking. He also liked problem solving and reading history books.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Shawn Rivers, Bradley Rivers, Michelle Rivers; 12 grandchildren, Jordan Suplee, Marcus Rivers, Addison Rivers, Jason Rivers, Katie Rivers, Zach Rivers, Landon Rivers, Mason Rivers, Asher Badorf, Caroline Rivers, Andrea Rivers, Violet Rivers; three great-grandchildren, Eli Rivers, Mathias Hartman and Isaiah Hartman.
In addition to his mother, Gerald was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Rivers; two sisters, Sharon Kline and Missy Rivers.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 10 to 11 AM, at Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Avenue, Ephrata, followed by his funeral service at 11 AM. Interment will take place in Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery
