Gisela Harr

Gisela Harr, 85, formerly of New Paris, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024 at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
She was born on October 15, 1938, in Obersemen, Germany; daughter of the late Wilhelm and Elizabeth (Hutzler) Kaiser.
On January 3, 1963, she married the late, Paul Harr. She met him in Germany when he was serving in the U.S. Army. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2002.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; son, Andy; granddaughter, Lilly; and siblings, Erna Kaiser, Ewald Kaiser, Elfriede, Hilda, Herta, Kurt Kaiser, Willi, Erhard, Gunter, Arnold, Heidi, and Anneliese.
She is survived by her children, Barbara, and husband Rocky Rhodes of New Paris; Bonnie and husband Allen Hainsey of Waunakee, Wisconsin; Michael and wife Liane Harr of Breezewood; 8 grandchildren, Barry (Clarissa) Rhodes; Nicole (Ryan) Rhodes-Fickes; Robert (Jamie) Rhodes; Coty (Sarah) Hainsey; Nicholas (Alissa) Hainsey; Morgan (Renea) Harr; Wade (Miranda) Harr; Mindy (Michael) Lowery; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Gisela was a homemaker and loved crocheting and baking. She had the ability to crochet doilies from looking at a picture in a magazine. She loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved holding them as babies and singing them lullabies. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, July 25 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home and on Friday, July 26 from 11 a.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 12 p.m. with Pastor James Shaffer officiating at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.
Interment will be at the Bedford County Memorial Park.
