Gladys Alberto

On February 19, 2022 Gladys Alberto went to be with the Lord.
Gladys was born on December 10, 1930 to Ilia and Alejandro Martinez in the town of Herradura in the Province of Pinar del Rio, Cuba. She grew up in Pinar del Rio and as a young woman moved to and worked in Havana, Cuba. In February, 1969 came to the United States and lived in Elizabeth, NJ until she moved to Charlotte, NC after retiring from Economy Color Card.
Gladys is survived by her son Ricardo Alberto, daughter Rebeca Samaroo and son Ruben Alberto. Daughter in-law Maricarmen Alberto, her grandsons: Richard Alberto, Luke Samaroo and granddaughter Jessie (Yesenia) Alberto and great-grandchildren Jeremiah Alberto and Isabella Alberto. Sisters Olga Ruiz and Irene Garcia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro Martinez and Ilia Martinez, and husband Juan A. Alberto.
Gladys loved to dance, music and singing. Her favorite genres of music were Praise & Worship, Cuban & Spanish Boleros and Salsa. Gladys was known for her strong faith in our Lord Jesus, her kindness, joyful disposition, sweetness and her forgiving attitude.
She will be greatly missed! Her family is looking forward to being together again in glory someday.
