Gladys Beavers
March 27, 1934 – July 23, 2026 (Age 92)
Gladys Lorena (Sigler) Beavers, age 92 of Reynoldsburg, OH passed away peacefully in her sleep at The Inn at Summit Trail on July 23, 2026. Gladys was born on March 27, 1934, in Cheshire Township, Gallia County, to the late Douglas Syrus & Alpha Catherine (Lane) Sigler. She grew up in Hocking County, Starr, OH, where some of her childhood friends were her big brother Doug Jr. and all the Beavers kids up on Tick Ridge Rd.
She graduated from Union Furnace High School (Starr-Washington) in 1952. She married William Jennings Beavers, Jr., in Starr in 1954 & moved into a house he had bought in the south end of Columbus to start a family. They raised 5 kids and moved to Canal Winchester in 1973 where they resided for the next 50 years. She was very involved in her kids’ lives and served on the PTA board of the local elementary school, as a den mother in scouts, was an elementary room mother for each of them, a band booster and attended every sporting event, band competition, concert and halftime show they performed in.
After her kids had grown, she worked at Winchester Place Nursing Facility as a 3rd shift aide for 2 years and then retired from Nationwide Insurance in 1996 With 16 years of service.
She enjoyed traveling, camping, bowling, cooking, gardening, family, winters in Florida, grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, William Jennings Beavers, Jr., Son Curtis and his wife Pat, brother & sister-in-law Douglas Jr. & Helen Sigler, sister Shirley Carter & brother-in-law Don Vermillion.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Pam) Beavers, Joyce (Mark) Tubbs, William Jay (Denise) Beavers, Carrie (Dennis) Cramer; grandchildren, Susan (Steve) Radzimski, Megan (David) Costine, Douglas (Jeri) Beavers, Bryan (Megan Baker) Beavers, Shannon (Steve) Little, Amanda Tubbs, Kristyn Tubbs, Cameron Cramer & Andrew Cramer.; great-grandchildren, Ivan, Dmitri & Victor Radzimski, Jackson Gualtieri-Costine, Archer Costine, Keegan Beavers, Kasen & Ryder Little; sisters, Karen Vermillion of Union Furnace, OH & Linda Sigler of Little River, SC; brother, John H. (Shirley) Sigler of Trenton, FL; brother-in-law, Gerald Carter of Lancaster, OH; and numerous nieces & nephews.
Friends are invited to calling hours Tuesday, July 28, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 650 W Waterloo St. Canal Winchester Ohio, 43110. A funeral service will follow at 1:00PM with celebrant Brenda Ross officiating. Entombment at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens. Contributions can be made in Gladys' name to Summit Hospice 2760 Airport Dr, Bldg. C, Ste 160, Columbus, OH 43219.
