Grant W. Hillis

Grant W. (Pete) Hillis, 82, of Hunker, passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2022, at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born Mar. 30, 1939, in Greensburg, to the late Grant B. and Dorothy L. (Wolfe) Hillis. He retired in 2001 after many years as a machinist at DME. Pete loved running his sawmill, farming and his antique Allis Chalmers tractors. Pete is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Linda F. (Burchell) Hillis, their three children Timi (Ray) Fowler, Dawn (Norman) Stout and Shawn Hillis. Pete was also blessed with five grandsons, Jason (Tara) Stout, Warren Hillis, Dale Hillis, Mitchell (Jocelynn) Hillis and Isaac Fowler and two great grandsons Kaeden and Landon. Also surviving are a brother Dennis Hillis and sisters Connie (Ronnie) Sillaman, Kay Vinkler and Becky Jo Keys. Visitation will be held Mon. Feb. 14, 2022, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt, PA 15674 where a Funeral Service will take place Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Paul R. Funk officiating. Internment will follow at Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg, PA.
