His influence extended to youth sports, where he coached the Little League Indians and Pee Wee Football teams, as well as lightweight football. Denny was a dedicated secretary of the Dapper Dan Club and served as President of the Hot Stove League, coaching the Lions baseball team. His passion for athletics and community was evident during his years as a coach, where he inspired countless young athletes and won many titles and championships, including the “most winningest coach” in Pee Wee football.

His professional career included founding Knippenberg Insurance Agency in 1970 and successfully growing the business into a pillar of the community. He earned numerous awards from Nationwide Insurance for his leadership, dedication, and excellence. The Knippenberg Agency has been an integral part of the community sponsoring numerous local sports teams and organizations.

Known for his warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering kindness, Denny touched the lives of everyone he met. Although he was very successful, he always remained humble.
