Harry Richard Wright
January 19, 1926 - January 2, 2024 (Age 97)
Harry Richard Wright, 97, of Ridgeley, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Harry passed two weeks before his 98 birthday.
Born on January 19, 1926, in Eckhart, MD, he was the son of John and Margaret (Brode) Wright. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor “Ebbie” (Robinette) Wright; son, Richard “Rick” Wright; brothers, Joseph and Raymond Wright, and sister, Alice Crowe.
Harry is survived by his daughter, Cathy Ford; sons, Tom Wright and wife Christine, Michael Wright and wife Marisa. He also leaves behind grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as great great grandchildren; Also numerous nieces and nephews; brother, Ralph Wright; sister, Doris Hanna and husband Tom. Tom was Harry’s best friend since childhood.
Harry was a proud military veteran having served in the Navy.
He was a carpenter by trade who built not only one of his own homes, but two.
Harry also worked at the Celanese as a security guard where he retired.
He enjoyed the outdoors, playing pool, watching football, crosswords, solitaire and puzzles. Harry enjoyed the challenge and never met a puzzle he couldn’t conquer!
Harry will be sadly missed yet remembered as a hardworking, kind hearted, giving, loving and caring man.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Phil Matthews officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
