Hazel J. Davis

Hazel J. Davis 93 of Wolfsburg, passed from this life into heaven on July 9, 2022, at UPMC Bedford Hospital. She was born on November 9, 1928, in New Paris a daughter of the late George W. and Stella (Mock) Felix sr. Her husbands Milton Barney Holland preceded her in death in 1966, Frank Davis in 1981. She was the loving mother of Jeannie Stufft Plummer, wife of Lee, of Bedford, Barney Holland husband of Debbie of Bedford, and former daughter-in-law Teri Williams of Bedford. She was a devoted grandmother to Kimberly Plummer Replogle and husband Trevor of Bedford, Shanda Holland Novak and husband Tom of Cresson, Stacey Holland Heikkila and husband Todd of Phoenixville, and Brady Plummer and Lindsay of Bedford. She was preceded in death by grandson Darrin Wilson. Her great-grandchildren are Ross Howsare, Austin Howsare and wife Maria, Abby and Sophie Replogle, Ethan Heikkila and Grace Marie Wilson. Her great great grandson is Louis Howsare. Hazel is survived by 2 sisters, Ruthanna Miller of New Paris and Thelma Barnes and husband Dick of West Middlesex, and one sister-in-law, Ruth Felix of Fishertown. She was preceded in death by brothers Virgil Felix, George Felix, Sr. and Archie Felix and two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane and Doris.
Hazel attended Pleasantville High School, graduating class of 1947. She spent many years working in hospitality and as a caregiver. A few of her places of employment were Eleanor’s Dress Shop, Clites’s Nursing Home and she retired at almost 80 years old from the Workshop at MHMR. Hazel was a charter member of the Bedford Church of the Brethren where she was active in many aspects of the church for over 50 years. More recently, she became a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bedford. She was a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Hazel took great pride in her home and her lawn and was truly happy when riding her tractor. With her kind spirit and infectious smile, she made friends everywhere she went. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at 3:00 p.m., at the St. John’s UCC Church, in Bedford, with Rev. Brady Plummer officiating. Burial will be private. Friends will be received on Saturday, July 16, from 4-6 p.m., at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home.
