Hazel Doak Morgan
December 24, 1914 - July 25, 2021 (Age 106)
Hazel Doak Morgan, of Indian Trail, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021, at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 106 years old.
A native of Tyler County, West Virginia, Mrs. Morgan was a daughter of the late Oliver and Ada Doak. She attended church her entire life until recent years and was a member of the former Idlewild Christian Church. A highlight of her life was being interviewed during Christmas 2020 by WSOC-TV News, where she discussed the importance of exercising twice a week which she said contributed to her longevity.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Morgan; and her son, Barry Morgan of Detroit, Michigan.
She is survived by her son, David Morgan of Indian Trail; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm Wednesday, July 28, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill, with her funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
