Hazel L. Carter

Mrs. Hazel L. Carter, age 84, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2022, in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was born to the late Louis Crump and Verla Mae Pressley in Matthew, North Carolina on September 22, 1938.
Hazel was passionate about gardening, sewing, baking, and flowers. She will be remembered as a loving, caring, family-oriented woman. Hazel was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Open Book Baptist Church in Monroe, North Carolina. She retired from Eckerd’s in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Gene Carter Sr.; son, Ricky Wayne Carter; and grandson, Robbie Carter. She was also preceded in death by her siblings; Mary Patterson, Agnes Jones, Loraine Rivadeneira, LB Crump, Chester Crump, Clyde Crump, Pat Turner, Judy Harris, and Vonnie Crump.
She is survived by her son, Bobby Carter Jr. and wife Petitsa; daughters Sherry Barnes and husband Dennis, and Lisa Powell. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on December 31, 2022, at 11:00 am at Heritage Funeral Home-Weddington Chapel. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow the service at Sunset Memory Gardens.
