“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.” (Psalm 116:15). As we mourn the death of our beloved Heather, I want you to notice the Lord views her passing as “Precious”. But why would that be? It is because he finally has her home where she belongs. Home free, for all eternity. Heather is more alive today than she has ever been. No more sickness, no more pain, no more suffering and no more death.
The grave has no power over the life of a believer, and we know without a shadow of a doubt that Heather is now safe in the arms of her Savior. But it’s not because of any works of righteousness that she had done in this life, it’s simply because she trusted in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. What are you trusting in to get you to heaven? Anything other than Jesus Christ will not be enough, because He said: “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6). Will you trust him today?
