Helen Marie Adams

Helen Marie Adams, 99, passed away peacefully at Clay Gardens Place on Saturday, February 8, 2025, of causes related to age. She was born December 29, 1925, in Pekin, Illinois to the late Leslie and Edna Harmon Rabel. She was an Inspector for Brockway Glass for over 25 years. She was a longtime and active member of Fair Oaks Baptist Church. She belonged and was dedicated to the Christian Sunday School class of the Mary Martha Missionary Circle at the church. Helen enjoyed traveling, reading and sewing in her free time. In later years, she resided and became the Ambassador of the Resident Council at Clay Gardens Place and enjoyed socially interacting with the other residents at the facility. Helen will be missed by her many friends and loved ones.
She is survived by her children: Donna Hockensmith, Jack (Carolyn) Huey, Debbie (Terry) Marple, Mary (Myron) Jolly, and Gary (Jamie) Huey; stepchildren: Mary Jane Peffer, Ruth Adams, Bill (Wendy) Adams and John (Susie) Adams; half-sister Loretta Kotzmoyer; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and a very special friend Debbie Kneen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her recent and loving husband William “Bill” Adams; her first husband and father of her six children Robert Huey, Jr.; a brother Robert Rabel; sisters: Betty Falbo and Ethel Baldwin; half-brothers: Frank Smith, Rudolph Smith, Jr. and Gene Smith; half-sister Joyce Cowan; infant twins; half-sister Mary Ann Smith; half-brother Marvin Smith; a son Bruce Huey; grandsons: Chad Marple, Dusty Marple, and Lance Jolly; and a very special friend John Kneen.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Clay Gardens Place, Shriver's Hospice, and especially Debbie Kneen, for all their tender loving care.

Calling hours will be held from 11AM to 1PM, Friday, February 14, 2025, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will begin at 1PM in the Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Geoff Geyer officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
