Henry Marshall Snyder

April 18, 1932 - February 5, 2025 (Age 92)

LaVale, MD- Henry Marshall Snyder, 92, of LaVale, MD, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Goodwill Mennonite Retirement Community.

Born April 18, 1932 in Mt. Savage, MD, Mr. Snyder was the son of the late William Roy Snyder and Anna Mary (Miller) Snyder. He was also preceded in death by his wife: Mary Helen (Lancaster) Snyder in 2014; a brother-in-law: Arthur F. Uhl, Jr.; and a sister-in-law: Elizabeth Tribut and husband Thomas.

Henry was in the last graduating class of Grantsville High School and retired as an auto mechanic from Campbell Chevrolet. A lifelong auto mechanic, he previously worked at Harry Poland ESSO in Mt. Savage, Thompson Buick, and Mt. Savage Refractories as an auto mechanic and GM Master Tech, being one of the first at Thompson Buick to be certified. He was a founding member of Classy Chassis Car Club and a life member of the Western Maryland Street Rod Association. He was a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church, Mt. Savage.

Henry is survived by his daughter: Rebecca Weatherholt and husband Bob; his sons: Henry M. Snyder, Jr. and wife Patty; and David Snyder and wife Amy; his sisters: Wilhelmina Uhl; and Gwendolyn Watts and husband John; his grandchildren: Jeremy Snyder and wife Kristen; Rob Weatherholt and wife Leslie; James Patrick Snyder; Logan Snyder and friend Saprina McMillan; Arthur Mason Weatherholt and friend Alexandra Edwards; and Melissa Holmes and husband Brandon; as well as his great-grandchildren: Cameron Joseph Snyder and Sophia Murray; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friends: Bill Malloy, Harry Whitaker, and Charles McKenzie.

Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD (www.adamsfamilyfuneralhome.com) on Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 P.M. with Bishop Martin Townsend officiating.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
