Herman Gibbs III, a beloved son, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, at his home in Pottstown, PA, surrounded by those who cherished him dearly. Born on December 18, 1956, Herman was the son of Gloria (Aiken) and the late Herman E. "Juckie" Gibbs Jr. He was 69 years old.
Herman's life was a testament to the power of love and community. He took immense joy in spending time with his family, which meant everything to him. His passion for his hometown teams was well-known; he was a dedicated fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, eagerly anticipating game days throughout the seasons. He also enjoyed watching the Phillies and 76ers. His enthusiasm extended beyond sports, as he enjoyed socializing with friends at the Poorhouse-a place where laughter and camaraderie filled the air. Herman was also a proud member of the Phillies Fire Company and the F.O.E., where he participated in the shuffleboard team, sharing memorable moments and forging lasting bonds.
He will be profoundly missed, not just by his family, but by all whose lives he touched with kindness and humor. Herman leaves behind his loving mother, Gloria Gibbs, three devoted sons-Barell Gibbs, Tyron Gibbs, and Marleeke Lear-and his cherished siblings: Jason Gibbs, Clinton Gibbs, Louise Gibbs, Bridget Wilkerson (and her husband, Billy), and Angel Gibbs. His legacy will continue through several adoring grandchildren, who will forever carry his spirit and warmth in their hearts.
A Homegoing Service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Warker~Troutman Funeral Home Inc, Pottstown. A viewing will be held prior to service from 9 a.m. till 11a.m. at the Funeral Home.
Burial will follow the service in Highland Memorial Park Cemetry.
