Howard C. Miller Jr.
December 1, 1948 – September 8, 2026 (Age 77)
Howard “Howdy” Charles Miller, Jr., 77, of Mount Zion, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Howard Charles, Sr. and Ella Mae Denlinger Miller.
Howdy graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School, Class of 1967; he then worked for K.D. Tool Co., Turkey Hill Dairy and Caterpillar in York. In the late 90’s, he relocated with Caterpillar to Decatur, IL and lived in Mt. Zion until retiring.
He was an active member and volunteered at Mt Zion Christian Church. He enjoyed bowling, hunting (guns and arrow), amusement parks especially roller coasters, Christmas and was a huge Phillies fan. He owned puppets and performed countless plays at Church and neighboring hospitals.
He is survived by his sister, Susan A. (Dennis P.) Webb, Lancaster, nephew, D. Paul (Melissa) Webb, Jr., Fayetteville, NC and niece, Shannon M. Webb, Lancaster and numerous nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his nephew, Daniel S. Webb.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Graveside Service at Riverview Burial Park, 1100 S. Duke Street, Lancaster, PA on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Dale E. Parmer officiating.
