Howard R. Swavely Jr.

September 24, 1927 - January 1, 2026 (Age 98)

Howard R. Swavely Jr., age 98, husband of the late Marvene (Folk) Swavely, of North Coventry Twp., Pottstown, died on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at his home.

He was born on the family farm in North Coventry and was a son of the late Howard R. Swavely Sr. and Florence (Lloyd) Swavely.

Howard was a 1950 graduate of Penn State and was a loyal fan. While attending Penn State he created his own Ice Cream recipe.

Howard was a self employed dairy farmer until 1958 when Meadow Brook Farms Incorporated, and he became treasurer of the corporation.

He was known as a good and thoughtful man, husband, father, grandfather, leader in the community, highly successful businessman building that dairy enterprise, and personal friend to so many to include Wounded Warriors from Vietnam in Valley Forge Army Hospital in Phoenixville.

He was a member of Coventry Church, Pottstown and had previously been a moderator and treasurer of the church along with being a member of the property committee. Howard was also a past president of the Kiwanis and was a member of Stichter Masonic Lodge #254.

He is survived by one daughter, Sara A. "Sally" wife of Edward Snyder, Boyertown; two sons, Howard R. Swavely III, and his wife Tamara, Pottstown; Johnathan L. Swavely and his companion Jody Raser, Goshen VT. Grandchildren, Adam, Alex, Andy, Janie, Melanie, Emily, Sam and Nine Great Grandchildren.

He was predeceased by four sisters, Margaret Batdorf, Jane Cadmus, Ethel Kochel and Virginia Egolf.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown.
