Imogene Artman
October 28, 1929 - September 28, 2021 (Age 91)
Imogene (Wilson) Artman, 91 of Irwin, Pennsylvania, was welcomed to Paradise, ascending into the loving embrace of her Lord and Savior, on September 28, 2021. She passed away in the home where she was raised in Pitcairn, Pennsylvania, surrounded by family. After communing with the Lord, she will rejoice in the company of her beloved who preceded her in death including her parents, Raymond and Louetta (Schake) Wilson, her husband of 62 years Paul Artman, her brother Carl Wilson, and her youngest son Glenn Artman. She was born on October 28, 1929. She was called Imy, Jean, Mom, and Gram by those fortunate enough to bask in the warmth of her selfless, caring, and kind love - God's love. Imogene was passionate about cultivating and nurturing the beauty of Creation. She loved gardening and watching her plants grow. In addition to juicy tomatoes and bright, bursting flower bulbs, she planted seeds of hope among her fellow humans. Her faith was quiet and stoic, communicated in acts of service to her family, friends, and community. Grateful for the blessings of a long life with a healthy body and mind, she took care of herself, eating well, exercising, and avoiding vice. After raising her dear children she enjoyed a career as a pharmacy clerk at Thrift Drug and the Medicine Shoppe in Irwin. Upon retirement, Imogene traveled with her sweetheart, Paul, gave her time to charities and her church, the First United Church of Christ, and doted on her grandchildren. The light of her love will continue to shine on Earth as she leaves behind a son Paul Artman Jr, a daughter Kathy Artman, a granddaughter Kristin Spinosi and her husband Tony, a grandson Brandon Mancine and his wife Tara, and a grandson Nicholas Mancine and his wife Brandi, and four great-grandchildren Elliott Mancine, Rocco Mancine, Gavin Mancine, and Freya Mancine, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom Imogene held close in her heart. We will miss her so much and honor her for all of our days. Friends will be received at the Ott Funeral Home Inc., 805 Pennsylvania Avenue, Irwin on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Funeral service will take place on Saturday at 1:00 PM in the First United Church of Christ, the church where she served and worshiped for over 50 years. Interment will follow in the Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park.
