Mrs. Irene Joan Duncan, 93, of Charlotte, NC died Friday, April 25, 2025 in her home surrounded by her daughter, Debbie and son-in-law, Danny. Irene was born on May 27, 1931 in Portage, WI to the late Michael Cebula and Julia Zelenski Cebula.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oren Duncan; grandson, Brandon Hamby; 7 sisters and 1 brother.
A memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Duncan’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Sunset Memory Gardens 8901 Lawyers Road Charlotte, NC 28227 beginning at 11:00 AM at The Faith Niche Columbarium. Reverend Roland Banks will officiate as the family gathers to celebrate Irene’s life and legacy on her 94th Birthday!
Irene loved nature, working in her yard and feeding the birds, especially hummingbirds. She also loved to exercise/workout and walk.
Mrs. Duncan is survived by her children, Debbie Hamby (Danny) of Coats, NC and Oren C. Duncan, Jr. of Jonesville, SC. She was also blessed with 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and other family members and friends.
