Rock Hill, SC – Mr. James C. Martin, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 17, at his home.
The family will receive friends at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC on Thursday January 22, 2026 from 4:00-5:30 pm. A graveside service with full military rites will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday January 23, 2026, at Grandview Memorial Park-Hollis Lakes, 401 Hollis Lakes Rd, Rock Hill, SC with the Rev. Luke Mayfield officiating.
Mr. Martin was born January 18, 1941, in Hickory Grove, SC and was the son of the late Gilliard Pinckney Martin and Sally Belle Childers Martin. He was an avid farmer, a graduate of Rock Hill High School, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served as Chaplain Services Spec1, and retired from Norfolk Southern Railway in Rock Hill where he worked for 32 years. Mr. Martin was a member of College Park Baptist Church, Rock Hill.
He is survived by his son, Jimmy Martin (Danny). Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Margaret H. Martin, two sisters, Thelma Craig and Mary Ann Privette of Rock Hill, SC and one brother, John B. Martin of Fort Lawn, SC.
