James Keith Hite

J. Keith Hite, 71, of Greensburg, died Saturday, August 20, 2022, in his home. He was born March 18, 1951, in Greensburg, a son of the late Melvin Grant and Ellen Marie (Bridge) Hite. He was a graduate of Greensburg Salem High School where he was a member of the football and wrestling teams. Keith had also attended St. Vincent College. Prior to retirement he had been employed by Plotkin Brother Supply, Famous Supply, and Pittsburgh Plumbing. Keith attended Zion Lutheran Church, Greensburg. He was a social member of the VFW Post No. 33, Greensburg. Keith loved all things sports. In his younger years, he could be found playing pickup basketball throughout Greensburg. He enjoyed softball, bowling, and golf. He was an avid Penn State and Pittsburgh sports fan. His greatest joys were spending time with his children, and grandchildren, and watching sports. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David G. Hite. He is survived by his children, Amy M. Weir (Thomas), of Lansdale, Jenny L. Abbott (Timothy), of Greensburg, and Jeffrey K. Hite (Danielle Malinowski-Hite), of Greensburg; and eight grandchildren, William, Henry, Ella, Katie, Samantha, Julia, Nicholas, and Alexa. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 PM Tuesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Brain B. Chaffee officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
