James H. Illig

James H. Illig 87, of Butler, died Sunday May 8, 2022, in Butler Memorial Hospital. He was born in New Kensington on November 6, 1934 to the late Francis Harold and Virginia Mae Moore Illig and has been a resident of Butler since moving from New Kensington in 1995.
Mr. Illig was an Army Veteran and worked as a technician for West Penn Power for over 35 years. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and West Virginia University Football and Basketball.
He is survived by his two children Sue A. Harvey of Palmyra, PA., Todd H. Illig of Sarver, stepson Michael (Sherri) McNabb of New Kensington, grandchildren Beth Ann (Joseph) McIntyre of Newark, DE., step grandchildren Rachel McNabb of Westerville, OH., Madeline McNabb of Munster, Germany, brother Charles E. Illig of Mirror Lake, NH., and first wife Janice Wolfe Alquist.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his second wife Patricia Ann Illig.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 11 AM until time of funeral service at 1 PM by Rev. Harold Mele at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Rd. at Alder St. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
