James Kluth

October 5, 1955 - January 7, 2025 (Age 69)

"Brother Jim" was born on Oct 5, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio. Jim passed away Jan. 7, 2025 with family members by his side. Jim was a loving husband, father , grandfather, friend, and devoted member Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. He graduated from South Mecklenburg High School in 1973. He attended THE Ohio State University, and was an enthusiastic fan of OSU football Jim was a kind-hearted, loving man. He could talk to ANYONE(and did!).

Jim generously shared his skills and talents to help others. Jim was a Realtor/Broker, and he worked with his family-owned company, Countryside Properties, Inc. He enjoyed helping people to become first-time homeowners and in their subsequent home purchases. He served on the Realtors Professional Standards Committee for 20 years, and the Realtors Grievance Committee for 3 years. Previous employment included working as a manager at McCrory's stores, Shoney's and Howard Johnsons restaurants.

He volunteered at the Independence Regional Library for over 20 years, teaching basic computer skills and smart phone skills to seniors. Jim taught basic computer skills at Central Piedmont Community College. Jim also tutored individuals in computer skills.

Jim was very involved at his home church: he played guitar at several Masses, mentored young musicians, worked with the Youth Group and Parish Council, a Eucharistic Minister, and he enjoyed participating in Fish Group dinners.

Jim is survived by his wife of 36 years Kathy(aka Hunne Bunnee),brother David (Lori), sister Kathy Harlan (Doug), his children, John Kluth (Beth), Jennifer Hill (James). Jim absolutely loved his grandkids, Emma and Cameron Kluth, Anthony, Cayden and Devan Hill. There are many extended family relatives in Ohio and Virginia.

Jim was funny, he brought laughter and smiles to many people. Jim was grateful for his many blessings, and grateful to all who helped him during his numerous medical battles.

The family extends special thanks to the staff at Atrium Main, Dickson Heart Unit, Atrium Mercy Hospital, the kind firemen, medics , 911 staff and close neighbors.

Jim was loved by so many people, a fitting legacy for our "Brother Jim".

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 17th from 10-11AM in the Narthex of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church,4207 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11AM. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd, Mint Hill.
