James Thomas Bishop

James Thomas Bishop, 93, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at his residence. He was born September 13, 1931, in Monroe County, Ohio to the late Earl and Elva Stallings Bishop. He retired from Rockwell as an Inspector with 31 years of service. He served his country and protected our freedom in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a devoted member of the Zanesville Church of Christ and American Legion Post #29.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche Morris Bishop; a daughter Donna (James) Miller; a brother Donald (Velmalee) Bishop; a sister Mary (Tom) Truelson; eight grandchildren: Patricia (William) Allen, Jennifer (Ray) Jenkins, Stephanie (John) Thompson, Chad (Jennifer) Bishop, Vanessa Bishop, Kevin (Erica) Bishop, Le Ann (Mark) Toth and Kenneth (Logan) Bishop; and numerous great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren with one on the way.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons: Jeffrey Bishop, Kenneth Bishop and Ronald Bishop; daughter-in-law Connie; a grandson, Shane Carroll: a great grandson, Austin Collopy; a sister Shirley Sills; and two brothers: Wayne Bishop and Glenn Bishop.
Calling hours will be held from 6PM to 8:30PM, Sunday, November 24, 2024, and 12PM to time of service at 1PM on Monday, November 25, 2024, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. The funeral will begin at 1PM in the Snouffer Chapel. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park. Fellowship and food will follow the burial at Timber Run Grange Hall. Doors open at noon for food drop off.
