James William Bucy

James W. Bucy, 86, of Boston, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026. He was born on August 10, 1940 in McKeesport and was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Hendry) Bucy. He was the loving husband of 52 years to the late Dorothy A. (DeFrank) Bucy, who passed away March 2, 2017. James was a US Navy Veteran proudly serving his country in the 1960s. He was a 1958 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School. After his service he worked as a Postman and Branch Manager for the United States Postal Service. After retiring from the postal service, and many miles of walking that came with the job, he still enjoyed walking the Boston Trail walking 5 miles a day almost everyday that he could up until the past year. He also enjoyed golfing, playing in many leagues and especially with his grandson. He is survived by his daughters, Dawn M. (Jeffery A.) Como of Boston, and Patricia A. ( Kevin C.) Zaken of North Huntingdon, son, Thomas E. (Deanna R.) Bucy of Jefferson Hills; grandchildren, Joshua D. (Jennifer) Zaken, Megan E. (Steven) Denk, Lindsey N. (Jonathan) Meyer, Jacob R. (Josie) Como, Bella R. Bucy, and TJ Bucy; great-grandchildren, Kamden, Paisley, Maizy, Lyla, Connor, and Kayleigh; nieces and nephews. In addtion to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Kapitan. Friends are welcome on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 from 4-8 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J. and Ian J.
