Jane Elliott
June 29, 1926 – February 25, 2026 (Age 99)
Jane Sillaman Elliott, 99, of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at The Grand of Dublin in Dublin, Ohio, where she had resided since 2016.
Born on June 29, 1926, in Youngwood, Pennsylvania, Jane was the daughter of the late Samuel and Elizabeth “Bess” (Michaelson) Sillaman. She was a devoted member of Charter Oak United Methodist Church in Greensburg, where she sang in the choir and faithfully served as church secretary for ten years.
Jane found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed card games with friends, was an avid reader, a skilled baker known for her cookies and pies, and cherished time spent with her family—especially her six great-grandchildren. Annual trips to Florida with her siblings were a highlight of her life, as were the nightly phone calls she shared in later years with her beloved sister, Mary.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles L. Elliott; her brother, Sam Sillaman, and his wife, Alexandra “Ganny” Sillaman; and her sister, Mid Cramer, and her husband, Frances O. “Hiney” Cramer.
She is survived by her five children: Nancy Ban and her husband, Ray, of Marietta, Georgia; Chuck Elliott and his wife, Jackie, of Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania; Beth Connolly and her husband, Rich, of Columbus, Ohio; Kim Maybach and her husband, Bill, of Plainfield, Illinois; and Cathie Beal of Friedens, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and her sister, Mary Kalis, and her husband, Ed, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to The Grand of Dublin for the compassionate care Jane received, and to her dear friends there—Sara, Chelsea, and Amanda—for their kindness, companionship, and friendship.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, April 24 at Charter Oak Church Frye Farm Campus, 449 Frye Farm Road, Greensburg, PA 15601; visitation immediately following the service. Interment at Westmoreland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
