Janice I. Caswell

Janice “Jan” Caswell age 84 of Canal Winchester, Ohio passed away September 23, 2023, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Jan was born in South Shore Kentucky on May 2, 1939. Graduated from McKell High School where she was a cheerleader. Preceded in death by her husband Calvin Caswell of 61 years, parents and brother Paul Robbins. Survivors include her son Mike Caswell and daughter Diana Shirk (Kerry Shirk), grandchildren Brad Shirk, Matt Shirk, Makenna Shirk, Callie Shipcott, Julie Caswell, CJ Caswell, great grandchildren Cooper Shirk, Charlie Shirk, Oakley Shirk. Sister Naomi, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Janice was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, Grandma, sister, Gigi and friend. Jan loved her family and friends fiercely. Back in the day when she got the Bingo call, off she would go with her Bingo buddies. Jan worked numerous jobs in her lifetime including lunch lady at Groveport Schools, Canal View Pharmacy, Central Trust, Bank One, then Chase, and Hallmark in Canal Winchester. She always tried to find jobs so she could be home for her kids. Jan loved her pets whether it be a finch, or a dog and she spoiled them. Peanut will miss his daily hot fudge sundae with pecans they shared. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She would watch Rock City on Sunday mornings when she was not able to attend Grace Bible Church. Her faith in God was her reason for living, knowing she would be once again reunited with Cal and other loved ones. Jan was feisty, ornery, passionate, and caring. Jan will be greatly missed but knowing she is in a glorious place gives comfort to those grieving. Friends may visit Thursday September 28, 2023, from 11:00AM until time of funeral at 1:00PM at The DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME 650 West Waterloo Street Canal Winchester, Ohio.
