Janice Long

Janice E. Long, 77, of Lancaster entered eternal rest on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Lancaster General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of H. Leon “Tuck” Long.

She was born in Lancaster and was the daughter of the late Loren K. Miller and Elizabeth A. (Rudes) Cramer.

Janice graduated in 1964 from Lancaster Catholic High School.

One of Janice’s passions was selling children’s books. She became self-employed and worked very hard with her husband by her side to enrich the lives of children throughout the Mid-Atlantic States as far south as Louisiana and as far west as Ohio.

Janice was an avid quilter and enjoyed teaching others how to quilt. She liked to travel, garden, and cook. She adored her dog, Miga. Her greatest love was her family.

In addition to her husband, Janice is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Long (John McStravick) of ME, step-daughter, Darlene Long, Aunt Irmadel Miller of CO, and many cousins across the country.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her brother, Cordell Miller.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Janice’s funeral service at The Groffs Family Funeral Home, 528 W. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Debbie Miley officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The interment will be held at Conestoga Memorial Park.
