Janice McCullough Meeks
April 17, 1954 - February 19, 2025 (Age 70)
Janice McCullough Meeks, 70, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on April 17, 1954, Janice was the daughter of the late Sarah and Theadore Meeks. She was a proud graduate of Rock Hill High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from Bowie State University. Janice dedicated her life to education, spending over 30 years as a beloved teacher at Bethesda Child Development Center, where she made a lasting impact on generations of children.
Janice was a lifelong and devoted member of Pineville A.M.E.Zion Church, where she held many significant roles throughout her life. She served as the Children and Youth Directors for the Rock Hill District, the church secretary, a class leader, stewardess, deaconess, children’s Sunday school teacher, usher, and much more, always leading with compassion and deep faith. Her unwavering commitment to her church family was matched only by her boundless spirit and love for others.
Known for her warm and radiant smile, Janice’s personality was a reflection of her joy and dedication to everything she did. Whether at work, in her church, or in her community, she approached each task with grace and positivity. Her kind and nurturing nature left a mark on all who knew her.
Janice is survived by her sister, Katie McCullough-Bradshaw; brother, Theadore “Butch” Pope; niece, Shannon Bradshaw; aunt, Jessie Hoyle; and many loving cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah and Theadore Meeks.
A celebration of Janice’s life will be held at Pineville A.M.E. Zion Church on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025 at 12:30PM. It will be preceded by a viewing at Robinson Funeral Home on Monday, February 24th, 2025 from 5PM to 7PM.
