Jason Massie
March 24, 1982 - September 30, 2024 (Age 42)
Jason R. Massie, age 42, of North Huntingdon, died on September 30, 2024, at UPMC East Hospital of Monroeville. Born March 24, 1982, he was the son of the late Robert E. Massie and Janet (Ken) Fiddler Shutley and the husband of Laura (Martin) Massie for over 18 years.
Jason always had a way of making everyone laugh that he knew or just met. He had an infectious smile, with a witty sense of humor. While he loved traveling with his wife Laura to Cancun, Mexico frequently, Jason also enjoyed the simple things in life such as watching football and hockey in his mancave, buying and reselling cars, visiting Conneaut Lake, spending time with his son Brennan building Legos sets, watching Brennan play hockey, and relaxing at home with a glass of Grey Goose in his hand with his loving cat named Goose sitting on his lap.
As many of you may know, The Massie Family has been actively involved within the community for many years through the work of their dealership. The family-owned and operated "Bob Massie Toyota" has been an iconic staple in the White Oak/McKeesport and North Huntingdon areas with sponsoring local events and car shows. Most importantly, however, The Massie Family has been actively involved with donating and running White Oak Animal Safe Haven. Jason's dad, Bob Massie Jr. coordinated and donated supplies to the animal shelter during every holiday season and also sponsored and built the "Massie Family Dog Park" for the shelter. Jason's wife Laura, is the current acting President at White Oak Animal Safe Haven today. Jason is also a proud member of F&AM, Shidle Lodge No. 601, of Irwin. The Massie Family has devoted their lives to helping others throughout the community. There are no words to describe the amount of heartbreak and sadness we feel.
In addition to his wife and mother, Jason is also survived by his son, Brennan; sister, Heather L. Massie of McKeesport; paternal grandfather, Robert M. (Jane Urish) Massie of Conneaut Lake, PA; mother-in-law, Debbie (Al) Henze of Belle Vernon; father-in-law, Chris (Lisa) Martin of White Oak; brothers-in-law, James, Christopher, Larry, and Luke; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Along with his father, he was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Gayle Massie; maternal grandparents, Herb (Virginia Patterson) Fiddler; and aunt, Laurel Lynn Massie.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Committal prayers and entombment will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park Mausoleum.
With the sudden passing of Jason, Laura and Brennan are dealing with an unimaginable and heartbreaking loss, while trying to plan for the future. Just shy of the age of 16 years old, Brennan desires to attend college after high school. With that being said, in lieu of flowers, we want to carry on Jason's wish to take care of his son and we are seeking donations towards Brennan's college fund. Laura and Brennan are so appreciative of all of your thoughts, prayers, and love during this extremely difficult time. Thank you.
