Jean Klick
April 21, 1930 - January 18, 2024 (Age 93)
Jean M. Klick, age 93 of Delaware passed away, on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Arlington Care Center in Newark.
She was born on April 21, 1930, east of Sunbury on the Barcus Family homestead. One of 29 members of the graduating Sunbury High School Class of 1948, she had been a lifelong resident of Sunbury and Delaware, except for 15 years spent in San Diego, California from 1950 until 1965.
While in San Diego, she worked 9 years in retail and six years in the medical field. Jean had worked in the office for several retail trades including The Sunbury News, and secretary for WBBY radio station. She also had managed the Georgetowne Retirement Center and was a leasing agent for the Barcus Company, Inc. at Londontown Apartments until her retirement in 1993.
A member of the Delaware Church of Christ in Christian Union, she enjoyed crafts of all types, and flower gardening, and held an affection for hummingbird and pitcher collections.
She enjoyed and was an avid bowler through which she met her pride and joy and husband of 52 1/2 years: William F. Klick, whom she married on October 31, 1958, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sadly, he passed away in 2011.
Survived by Daughter: Karen Helms of Newark, Step-Sons: Allan L. (Joy) Klick of Aubrey, Texas, 3 Grandsons, 4 Great-grandsons, 3 great-great-granddaughters, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her beloved husband, she was also preceded in death by parents Norman and Beatrice Barcus, Son William E. Klick, Sister Margaret I. Fay, Brothers: Leonard, Arthur, and Donald Barcus, and granddaughter Cynthia Helms, as well as many endeared friends.
Friends may call two hours before the funeral services, which will be held at 12:00 p.m. Noon on Wednesday, January 24th at Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Dr. at W. William St., Delaware, Ohio 43015 with Pastor Bill Benner officiating. Burial will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens, 7060 OH-3, Westerville.
