Jerry O. Snyder
March 10, 1937 - December 8, 2022 (Age 85)
Jerry O’dell Snyder, Sr., 85, of Short Gap, was called home to heaven on Thursday, December 8, 2022. He passed away peacefully at UPMC Western Maryland surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 10, 1937 on the Old Furnace Road, he was the son of the late Leo Snyder and Catherine (Peer) Snyder.
He was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Vida Lee.
Jerry had attended Fort Ashby High School.
He was a retired tire builder at the Kelly Springfield Tire Company, and a long-time independent truck driver. He was also a veteran of the US Navy.
His lifelong hobby was building and racing cars.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jerry Snyder, Jr. and wife Kelly, Tammy Lee Snyder and partner Jerry, and Michelle Dawn Snyder; siblings, Helena Shanholtz, and William Snyder and wife Bernice; grandchildren, Michael Humbertson, Joshua Condron, Tony Snyder, and James Overlin. He is also survived by his 12 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 2:00 PM, with the Rev. Scott Knowlton, officiating.
