Rock Hill, SC – Jerry Wayne “Country” Strickland, 74, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC with Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, 620 South Cherry Road, Rock Hill, SC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:45 pm prior to the service.
Born in Gordo, AL, “Country” as he was widely known, was the son of the late Edward Ray Strickland and the late Levi Homan Bosch. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Strickland, and Tony Strickland, his daughter, Dana Jean Strickland. He was past owner and operator of the former, Country’s Harley Davidson of Rock Hill. He was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.
Country is survived by his wife, Valerie Garska Strickland; his son, Doug Strickland of Rock Hill; two brothers, Clayton Ray (Rebecca) Strickland of Conyers, GA, and Dennis Lee (Jan) Strickland of Tuscaloosa, AL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jerry “Country” Strickland’s name to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, 950 West Faris Street, Greenville, SC 29605.
