Joan Willison

LaVale, MD – Joan Maxine Willison, 90, of LaVale, MD, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Devlin Manor.
Born September 4, 1936, in Cumberland, Md, Joan was the daughter of the late Francis Henry McCoy and Susan Ida (Walter) McCoy Mallow. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Gerald “Jerry” Willison; her daughter-in-law: WyTonya Willison; her grandson: Kenneth “Mitch” Willison; and her step granddaughter: Kandyse Fontenot.
A graduate of Fort Hill High School, Joan retired from the Dietary Department at Sacred Heart Hospital, and from the cafeteria at Fort Hill High School. She enjoyed spending time with her dog, crocheting, and loved to cook. Joan was a member of the Garden Club after retirement.
Joan is survived by her children: Gary Willison and wife, Donna (Gibson) Willison; Pamela Hansel and fiancé, Michael Winas and his daughter, Jessica Winas; and Bruce Willison: her grandchildren: Josh Willison (Amanda), Sarah Frazier (Philip), Brandon King, Travis King (Elizabeth), Colby Hansel (Brittany), and Nathan Willison (Kasey); and her step grandchild: James Vallery (Wendy); as well as her 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
