Joanne Chedrick
June 29, 1941 - January 31, 2022 (Age 80)
Joanne (Beluschok) Chedrick, 80, of Greensburg, passed peacefully surrounded by loving family on Monday, January 31, 2022. Everyone knew her as “Baba”, even though she was so youthful at heart. Her family was her greatest accomplishment; each opportunity she had to be a part of their lives meant everything to her. She was a loving and equal partner to her late husband, Don, and a caring mother to their four children. Baba never missed an event that her grandchildren participated in and was always their biggest cheerleader. She was incredibly resourceful, creative and crafty, always making homemade gifts that we will forever remember her by. Her favorite place to relax was her deck, where family and friends would spend hours enjoying each other’s company over a drink or several. Baba had a great sense of humor and made sure everyone enjoyed themselves, so they never wanted to leave. “Always eat dessert” was her mantra for spending time with the people you love while doing what you enjoy. Please raise a glass in her memory. Baba is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Chedrick; parents, John and Mary Beluschok; and brothers, John and Ronnie. She is survived by four children, Dawn Carson (Wayne), John Chedrick (Lisa), Connie Capar (Dan), and Chris Derr (late husband Bob); eight grandchildren, Chelsea Lehman and Donny Chedrick, Andrea and Ryan Carson, Paul Capar and Rachel Pandazis, and Brendon and Devin Derr; two great-grandchildren on the way; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 PM Friday at St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, 1182 Ashland St., Greensburg, PA 15601. Memorial prayers will begin at 7 PM Friday. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM Saturday followed by a funeral service to begin at 11 AM with Archpriest John Nosal officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. Face masks are requested to be worn when visiting. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Family Hospice at www.familyhospicepa.org. LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton St., Greensburg is assisting with arrangements. The family would like to thank UPMC Mercy for their compassionate and excellent care.
