Joanne Marie Frey
October 25, 1928 - October 8, 2024 (Age 95)
Joanne passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October eighth, 2024 at Lancaster General Hospital. She was 17 days short of her 96th birthday.
She was the beloved wife of Kenneth Richard Frey, who died on February 21st, 2016. They shared over 65 years of marriage.
Born October 25th, 1928 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Josephine Kreider. She was preceded in death by a sister Barbara Kreider Zell and a brother David Kreider.
Joanne is survived by three sons. Kevin Frey, Lancaster, Mark Frey, married to Judith, Lancaster and Chris Frey, companion of Jane Kring, Bernville, PA.
She had 9 grandchildren. Eric Frey, Adam Frey, Linda Frey, Alex Frey (married to Erika), Robert Julius (Married to Annette), John Julius, Richard Julius, Amanda Addison (married to Jeremy Addison) and Michael Frey. She also had 10 great-grandchildren.
Joanne graduated in 1946 from West Lampeter High School, after spending 10 years in the Lancaster City School District.
A homemaker for most of her life, Joanne cared for her parents and Ken’s Mother in her home for many years.
She was a 70 year active charter member of Community United Methodist Church (formerly Community EUB), Lancaster, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and helped with the prayer chain.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Community United Methodist Church, 130 Tennyson Drive, Lancaster, PA 17602 on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024 at 11:00 am.
The family will greet those attending from 10:30 am until the time of the service.
Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Conestoga Memorial Park.
