Johhn P. "Jack" Boos

John P. (Jack) Boos, 89, a resident of Scranton, died Friday afternoon in Linwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. His wife, the former Lillian Pryor, died in 2020. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Albert and Genevieve Foy Boos. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church and was a graduate of St. Mary's High School. He was formerly employed by Capitol Records and Topps Chewing Gum, and St. Mary's Elementary School and after his retirement, he was employed in the maintenance department of The University Of Scranton. He was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Jack was a loving husband and father and he enjoyed being with his children and family. Surviving are his daughter; Carolyn Lee Chewey and husband Michael, Harvey's Lake, and his son David John Boos, Scranton, a brother Robert Boos and wife Maggie, Carbondale, and his sister-in-law Ann C. Pryor, Scranton, nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sisters; Mary Hart, Grace Boos, and Eleanor Weber. A Blessing Service will be conducted Wednesday at 10 AM by Rev. Richard Fox, Pastor of St. Patrick's Church, in the August J. Haas Funeral Home, Inc., 202 Pittston Ave. Interment Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM.
