November 18, 1926 - November 23, 2025 (Age 99)

John D. “Jack” Copeland, 99, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday, November 23, 2025, at home. He was born November 18, 1926 in Jeannette, a son of the late Clarence and Gertrude (Frye) Copeland. He retired as a machinist for Westinghouse Electric, East Pittsburgh. He was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church, Irwin where he served as an elder and a longtime member of the choir. He loved to sing. He was a member of Jeannette Lodge No 750 and Shidle Lodge No 601, Free and Accepted Masons, and served as principal of the school of instruction for the 30th Masonic District. He was an active member of all the Scottish and York Rite masonic organizations and was a 33rd degree mason. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son in law Fr. Antony Bell and siblings Patricia Mull and Clarence Copeland. He is survived by his wife of nearly 79 years Patricia N. (Myers) Copeland; his daughters and their families Melanie Bell, Melinda Copeland, and Stephanie (Ronald) Heydorn; his grandchildren Rachel Botti (Brian Kosoglow), Nathan Botti (Kate McKinley), Christian Bell (Nicole), Nicholas Bell (Emily), and Alexandra Nyegaard (Cody); step-grandchildren Tammy Pavsek, and Robyn Stawinski; his great grandchildren Dante, Riley, Olivia, Caroline, Audrey, Jack, Julianna, Madison, Victoria, Forrest, and Meadow; several step-great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 28, at the First Presbyterian church, 617 Main St., Irwin, with Rev. Doug Rehberg, officiating. Private interment will be at Westmoreland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to the First Presbyterian Church building fund
